New Finnair Longhaul cabin coming January 2022

Looks like a new business seat... do they have the money to refurb all widebodies or is this coming with the new A359 (ln 516, OH-LWS) due to be delivered shortly?

Very much surprised by a "fully renewed long-haul cabin". I was expecting them to just remove the J minicabin and replace it with premium economy, but this looks promising after all the complaining we've been doing about the current J cabin. At least the hospital style will be changing a bit with the dark blue finishes.

One can only hope that this "new Finnair" will also at least return to the previous level of in-flight catering...

Personally, I value seat more than catering. Better seat, I can take burger king takeaway. But not holding my breath here what news this is. January? I wonder

What a teaser. Are they only renewing the fabric, or are they really installing new J seats?

"Your travel experience is about to change" - well, it has already, soon hitting the bottom.

The personal lamp reminds me a CCTV recorder. Have they installed meat detectors in?

The 3L mark on the thin seat makes me wonder what's that going to be about - the seat doesn't quite give a J feeling from the preview.

But overall it seems like a modern design, so for anyone who is going to fly in the Salad Class, I hope it's going to be comfortable as well.

AY is not known for refurb of the existing fleet. They usually get a new seat which is then line fit on all new aircraft deliveries. The old are left in the fleet and disappear when the aircraft retire. A retrofit of a cabin with the associated galley fixes costs 10-20 million € per aircraft to do. Considering the A359 are not that 'old' (2015- 2020, ie the interior has not been written off), my guess is the remaining 4 A359 will get the new interior and we may see a retro fit of the A330. And perhaps new seat covers and some interior fix (foils for the walls) for the 16 A359 currently in service.

Next 359 delivery is planned to Q2/2022.

This could be A330 also.

Anyone smart to decode what seat provider this is, based on that teaser?

Someone suggested TK/SQ seat, but I am not convinced.

Hmm... doubt it. The Stelia 'Symphony' used by TK/SQ doesn't have a lamp: https://www.stelia-aerospace.com/en/symphony/

The Thompson Vantage XL has a lamp: https://www.thompsonaero.com/seating-range/vantagexl/ but there the 3L seat number doesn't fit in

The Recaro CL6710 is another possible option, don't see a space for the lamp or the 3L: https://www.recaro-as.de/de/flugzeug...ss/cl6710.html

Collins super Diamond (also the base of the BA Club seat) is definitely out: https://www.collinsaerospace.com/wha...Diamond-Family

I think the marking is not on the seatback itself but rather on a privacy partition of the seat.

I doubt we can reach a consensus on what this seat is until it is announced. I believe most seats these days can be customized to a large extent from the standard ones on the manufacturers' websites?

IIRC OH-LTO has been in HKG for some time now. Maybe for retrofitting new cabin?
